Vice Administrator Wang Shuhe Attends the 12th International Symposium on CBM/CMM in China

On November 15th~16th, 2012 the 12th International Symposium on CBM/CMM in China, sponsored by the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety and the USEPA, and undertaken by CCII was held in Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast. Mr. Wang Shuhe, Vice Administrator and Chief Engineer of the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, Ms. Felicia Ruiz from USEPA, Mr. Zhi Tongxiang, Director of Department of Policy and Regulations of SAWS, Mr. Zheng Xingzhou, Vice Director of Department of Science and Technology Equipment of State Administration of Coal Mine Safety , Ms. Huang Wenhang, Director of the International Division of Climate Change Department of NDRC, Mr. Eric Aldridge from Embassy of the United States Beijing, and Mr. Huang Shengchu, President of CCII, Mr. Lv Jingmin, Mr. Dong Ruilin, and Mr. Liu Wenge, Vice Presidents of CCII, attended the Symposium. Total of over 100 experts and representatives from government agencies, research institutes, and enterprises both at home and abroad also attended the Symposium.
 
Mr.Wang Shuhe,Vice Administrator of the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a significant statement. He points out the SWAS and State Administration of Coal Mine Safety have always focused on gas drainage, implementing the two “four-in-one” outburst prevention measures, and building and improving of CMM Comprehensive Control and Prevention System, enhanced the strategy of strengthening safety through science and technology, and organized new technology promotion regarding coal and gas outburst control and prevention and gas recovery. He emphasized that gas drainage and utilization is the essential way to prevent gas accident in coal mines, and joint effort is required to further enhance the gas prevention and CBM/CMM development, especially international exchange and cooperation. The State Administration of Coal Mine Safety sincerely welcome cooperation between foreign governments, international institutions and companies and related domestic agencies, and work together to make greater contribution to CBM development, the improvement of coal mine safety, and the protection of global environment.
 
President Huang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and made a presentation with the title of Investment Opportunities and Policies for CBM/CMM Development in China. Representatives present at the symposium have been discussing of the topics including CBM/CMM project development prospects and investment opportunities in China, CMM zero emission, CMM drainage and utilization technology, comprehensive utilization oflow concentration CMM, etc. The Symposium has provided an opportunity to promote the application of CBM/CMM recovery and utilization technologies and CMM projects in China, as well as to provide opportunities for further international cooperation to CCII.
